Job Description


The Tradeshow Service Specialist position is the main interface between tradeshow contractors and the CORT District that services the contractors by providing rental furniture. This position keeps track of furnishing orders on a per tradeshow basis. The Tradeshow Specialist oversees logistics by checking for inventory availability, schedules product move in times and locations, attends show move in to take last minute orders and verify delivery of product to appropriate booths, and attends show move out to assure all product is returned to the district.


  • Supports the CORT Operations Team by negotiating and scheduling delivery/pickup dock location and time with Trade Show Contractors and event clients.
  • Primary point of contact for all communications from local Tradeshow Contractors. 
  • Manages details of set up, move in and move out procedures with local contractors. Represents CORT management at pre-con meetings with contractors, and may in some cases lead these meetings.  Communicates commitments made to the Operations Team and to the District General Manager.
  • Plan and lead district pre-con meetings to informed operations.
  • Maps orders onto tradeshow floorplans and instructs operations on truck management and delivery plans relative to tradeshow move-in.
  • Sets own onsite work hours with District General Manager and Trade Show Contractors. Communicates these to the CORT Operations Team to manage CORT’s move-ins and move-outs.
  • Provides onsite trade show customer service support. This includes: secures onsite orders, monitors and assures product meets CORT standards, service failure and quality issue resolution, and ensures product is delivered to designated locations.
  • Provides onsite event customer service support. This includes quality control and service failure. Also assists in facilitating changes, cancellations or add-ons.
  • Identifies and proposes suitable product substitutions that satisfy Trade Show Contractors, event clients and Exhibit House clients.
  • Supervises temporary labor at tradeshow or event site.  Provides direction to unionized labor on product placement on show floor.
  • Audits orders to determine if they are new and work with operations to assure product availability.
  • Serves a management’s representation at show site.  Provides logistical oversight of onsite CORT delivery teams and delivery of product to booths.
  • Onsite contact for Exhibit House clients in cooperation with the Sales Executive and Sales Management.
  • Maintains relationships with local contractors.  This includes conducting regularly scheduled service calls, and continuously being available to address contractor concerns on a 24/7 basis.
  • Keeps CORT management and operations appraised of all important issues and commitments made at show and event sites.
  • Reconcile and audit order accuracy prior to invoicing.
  • Generates client and delivery reports as needed.
  • Works weekends and evenings as dictated by the trade show and event schedule.
  • Will provide an exceptional customer experience regardless of personal opinion or Trade Show content because service quality can impact CORTs business with contractors on a national basis.
  • Available to travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Takes customer calls 24-hours a day, seven-days a week.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


  • Four year degree; or four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Ability to quickly connect with others and demonstrating exceptional customer service and presentation skills.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently.
  • Excellent communication and reasoning skills, computer proficiency, internet searching, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work weekends.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen. As a condition of continual employment must be able to pass all random and post-accident drug tests.
  • Must have valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
